On a Sunday evening in a sold out Kurbads Ice rink the sixth final game between HK Kurbads and HK Mogo teams were played. Nervous game with high stakes favored guest team, when they managed to score on overtime, winning the game 2-1 and series 4-2!
Mogo controlled the first 20 minutes, often shooting at Uldis Čalpa’s net. But Henrijs Ančs at the other net makes mistake when he gifts the puck to Lauris Rancevs who passes it to Mārcis Zembergs, who shoots the puck into the net and opens the score. The battle goes on in next 20 minutes. Kaspars Saulietis draws the game with a long range shot.
Mogo team has the advantage on the third period while Kurbads seeks their luck on counterattacks. Both teams have very good opportunities to score goals but both goalies do their job perfectly.
Game goes to overtime where every mistake counts. Sadly, the mistake is made by Kurbads, when Kārlis Ozoliņš is left all alone at the front of the net and shoots the puck in the upper corner – Mogo wins the title!
